How to get to Gallipoli

By Plane

If you are flying, the closest airport to Gallipoli is Brindisi with several daily international flights from around Europe. From the UK, Ryanair has direct flights from Stansted or AirItalia via Rome.

From the airport, the best option is to hire a car as you will need the flexibility and convenience it provides when touring the surrounding villages, vineyards and beaches of Salento.

By Train

Gallipoli has its own train station so an alternative to hiring a car from Brindisi is to get a train. The journey takes around 2 1/2 hours with the first part involving a short bus ride (3kms) to Brindisi train station in the city centre.

By Car

If you are driving down the Adriatic side of Italy then follow the autostrade all the way down to Brindisi which then turns into the Superstrade to Lecce. Once at Lecce, you take the SSO1 road to Gallipoli which takes a little over 30 minutes to cover the 32kms.
