At 1062m, just below the summit of Mount Sasso del Ferro, you can get incredible views of Lake Maggiore, the Alps, the Ticinio river and nature reserve in the Ticino Valley and the other Italian lakes - well worth the hike or the short cable car ride up from Laveno.
Laveno is also very well positioned for visiting all the top attractions Lake Maggiore has to offer such as the famous Borromean Islands. With the ferries leaving Laveno every 20 minutes during the peak summer months, getting around Lake Maggiore is easy.
