Tenterden is a lovely family friendly town in the borough of Ashford. Nestling in the heart of the Weald of Kent and overlooking the valley of the River Rother, Tenterden is rich in history and culture. It has largely escaped modern development and retained its authentic charm and character which is why it is a popular spot for renting a holiday cottage. The village has an enticing, broad tree-lined High Street with many cafes, bars, restaurants and shops being housed in the historic buildings.

As one of the prettiest rural towns in Kent, Tenterden also boasts the largest Conservation Area in the Ashford District. Most of the listed buildings are timber framed and include the Georgian Town Hall, the spectacular medieval St Mildred’s Church and the 15th-century coaching inn, The Woolpack.
